Privacy Policy
The short version: TeamRelay is built so that we never see your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no servers handling your conversations. Speech recognition, translation and spoken playback all happen on the phones in the room, and messages travel directly between those phones over your local WiFi network or Bluetooth.
1. Who we are
TeamRelay is an iOS app published by Digital Nomad Studio ("we", "us"). If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at team@digitalnomadstudio.io.
2. What the app processes, and where
- Your voice. When you hold or tap the microphone button, audio is converted to text using Apple's on-device speech recognition. Audio is not recorded, stored, or sent to us.
- Translations. Text is translated using Apple's on-device Translation framework. Language models are downloaded to your device by Apple; translation itself runs locally.
- Spoken playback. Translated messages are spoken aloud using the voices installed on each listener's device.
- Session messages. Messages travel directly between the participating devices over your local network (WiFi) or Bluetooth. They do not pass through our servers; we don't operate any servers for sessions. Messages exist in the app only for the duration of a session.
- Settings. Your display name, language choices, and preferences are stored only on your device. Optional club or company branding (a logo you add) is stored only on your device and shared directly with session participants so their screens can match.
3. What we collect
Nothing. TeamRelay has no user accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We do not collect, receive, store, or sell any personal data from the app.
4. Permissions the app asks for
- Microphone. Needed to hear you when you speak. Used only while you are actively recording.
- Speech recognition. Allows your device to convert your speech to text. Depending on your device settings, Apple may process speech data as described in Apple's own privacy documentation shown when you grant the permission.
- Local network. Needed to discover and connect to the other phones in your session over WiFi or Bluetooth.
You can change these permissions at any time in your device's Settings app. The app requests no other permissions: no location, no contacts, no photos (other than a logo you explicitly choose for branding).
5. Purchases and subscriptions
Subscriptions are purchased through, and managed by, Apple's App Store. We never see your payment details; Apple handles the transaction under its own privacy policy. If a Business licence purchased outside the App Store is activated in the app, the licence key and the app's identifier are sent to our licence server solely to confirm the licence is valid; no personal data is included.
6. This website
This website is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, loads no third-party fonts or scripts, and collects no information about visitors. If you email us, we use your email address only to reply to you.
7. Children
TeamRelay does not collect personal data from anyone, including children. The app can be used in classroom settings under the supervision of a teacher; because processing stays on-device and sessions are local, no student data ever reaches us.
8. Data retention
We hold no user data, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Session messages live only in the app during a session on the participants' own devices. Settings stored on your device are removed when you delete the app.
9. Changes to this policy
If we ever change how TeamRelay handles data (for example, if a future feature introduces an online service), we will update this policy and change the effective date at the top before the feature ships.
